Day 51 indoor- Time to Flip the plants

Day 51 indoor- Time to Flip the plants

Day 51 indoor- The two plants indoors (Sundae Driver & Bruce Juice) have filled the tent. I was at a crossroads now because I ran out of room to continue the vegetative stage. I also was not sure if the timing was right; Is it too early? Did I wait too long? So I consulted the Google machine and learned some new things. I learned the difference between photoperiodic and autoflower “flipping time.” Photoperiodic means that the plants depend on the amount of light (sun) they receive. Currently the plants are getting 18 hrs of light and 6 hours of dark. When the light (sun) turns from the 18/6 cycle to a 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark cycle, the plant is triggered into the flowering stage where the budding happens. Autoflower means that the seed itself is genetically modified to flower at a certain day regardless of the light cycle. (I believe you still use the 18/6 & 12/12 light cycles, the plants just switch to flower on their own.) All of my seeds are from cannabis we smoked, so I don’t believe they’re autoflower seeds; I assume I’m growing photoperiodic plants. Therefore I can control when the plants go to flower; I choose now! Since the plants have filled the tent, I think it’s the right time to change the light schedule to 12/12. Plus the plants will continue to grow vertically and there is only 8” left to the light overhead.
