Day 56 indoor- Crisis averted

Day 56 indoor- Crisis averted

Day 56 indoor- I woke up this morning with a plan to find a lightbulb asap. I knew I had until 6pm to find a light in order to stay on the 12/12 light schedule I set up. (I run the lights from 6pm to 6 am because the electric rate is off peak so it’s cheaper, every little bit helps.) I started off going to the soil guys for some advice and direction; they didn’t sell bulbs but he told me the bulb was a quality bulb so I knew I wanted the same thing again. I googled grow light bulbs with the same specifications and came up with all sorts of options, yet none of them looked like my bulb. Through my google searching, I ended up at the website where I purchased my grow tent. I found exactly the bulb I was looking for, it matched perfectly. I probably should’ve thought to look there first but I didn’t want to spend top dollar on the bulb if I didn’t have to. At least that was my thought for about 30 minutes; the more I thought about it and researched other bulbs, the more I thought maybe spending the extra money to know I was getting the right thing was worth the extra cost. Considering we’re about to enter the final stretch to beautiful buds, I felt spending the extra money was a good investment. So now I had procured the bulb, I just had to get it here from California as quickly as possible. The only problem is that it was going to be almost the same cost to ship as it was for the bulb itself. I contacted the grow tent company The Bud Grower and made sure the bulb would ship right away due to the fact that the regular ground shipping was going to take 3-5 days. That was going to be 3-5 days of darkness while I waited for the bulb if I didn’t figure something out. Alex at The Bud Grower helped me come up with a fix until the bulb arrived. I tried a regular CFL bulb and it worked! So the plants are getting some light for the next couple days but the most important thing is that the plants stay on the light schedule. The new bulb will be here in a couple days and then we’ll really be cookin!
